I had no real plans for today, so I just took it easy. I did a few chores and a little grocery shopping. We’re having a little cold snap this week, and I could see my breath as I took Emma on her first outs this morning. The campground is pretty much packed to the gills, and will remain that way for most of the month. I’m finding that I’m growing fond of my on board washing machine. :) It sure beats trying to get the laundry done at the park now that there are so many people here.
I did venture outside late this afternoon to try my hand at some more hummingbird pictures. Late afternoon is when the sun is in a good position to light up the feeders.

I had a new visitor at the Hard (Red) Rock Bird Cafe today. A male broad-tailed hummingbird stopped by for a sip of nectar.
When this bird flies, his wings produce a high musical trill. You can hear him coming from quite a distance. It’s almost like he’s wearing bells!
Lurking inside the shadowy nearby pine tree is the male rufous hummingbird. He blasts off his perch to defend the feeder that is hanging on the pine tree at Jim’s site. What a feisty dude he is!
Emma and I plan to drive one of the scenic/historic Idaho Byways tomorrow. I just haven’t decided which one yet. I have a guide to Idaho’s scenic byways, and it just depends on how long of a drive I’m interested in doing. We’ll see how the weather is in the morning.
Thanks for stopping by….talk to you later, Judy
